    Strange Permissions Issue

    Hello.

Got a wierd situation. Added a Win2k SP4 member server to our domain of existing Win2k SP4 servers. This server is NOT participating in AD. It is my terminal server.

I have created a directory structure on the member server where my users will store docs and have their user folders. I have added the following perms to the folders (the share is Everyone Full Control):

Admin Folder = Domain Admins Full, AdminGroup = Modify, R,W,Ex,List.
Clinical Folder = Domain Admins Full, AdminGroup = Modify, R,W,Ex,List.
Private (one for each user) = DomAdmins Full, Individual Users = Modify, RWX, List.

Here’s the rub: I cannot add the Administrators group. I cannot get into the folder as an Administrator while on the box itself. However, if I VNC to an AD server and map a drive to the share (as Administrator) I have no problem.

    Any thoughts?

the shared permissions are all right but the local permissions are screwed up.
On the member server (pyshically on the box,) go to the folder and take ownership of the folder (r-klik, permissions, take ownership) and redo all the permissions.

Unclear on your comments regarding the local perms. Can you please clarify?

      Thanks for any info.
