Strange printer problem

by jsgray1023 . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

I am at wits end on this one.
I am trying to install a lexmark optra N printer. The printer is connected via TCP, and I have a WinNT 4.0 server hosting it. I recently upgraded the printer driver on the server. All my clients can access it except for 4 clients. When they try to print to it, a dialog box pops up saying “Cannot start print job”. So if I go to the printer properties of the Lexmark a dialog comes up an says “Device settings cannot be displayed. The driver for the specified printeris not installed, only spooler properties will be displayed. Do you want to install the driver no.” If I choose Yes it will go through the process of installing it, and during install it will ask to print a test page and it prints a test page fine. After I finish installation then go back to the printer properties it will say the “Device settings cannot be displayed…” again. I have edited the registry and removed every key and value related to Lexmark, removed every lexmark driver file, but still no luck.
Has anyone had this before.

Thanks
Jeff
