I am suddenly having a strange problem on my laptop, which is running Windows Vista.
In almost every program I open, help pages pop open on their own, independently, and refuse to close.
This is happening in Microsoft Outlook, Windows Vista, Adobe Acrobat reader, MS Word…
I can’t do a google search for viruses that impact help pages because there are millions of hits for virus assistance that include the word “help.”
Virus and malware scans turn up nothing.
This coincided with an odd problem with Chrome. Uncontrollable explosion of new tabs that can only be stopped by holding down Ctrl-W repeatedly. I subsequently uninstalled Chrome.
I would appreciate any insights.
