How does one create a stripe set from more than one physical disk(with or without parity)?

ME doesn't support that from a software perspective. What you need is a hardware solution like one of Promise Technologies FastTrack ATA100 Raid cards.

The only way you can create a stripe set with or without parity is to have a RAID card that has the software to support that.

the other two are both right, Win98 and ME are not going to give you a soft ware route to raid3 ,what you need is going to be 3rd party or hardware based, www.tomshardware.com has an article floating around in it about ho you can reengineer a controller to be a hardware raid for you.
My personel suggestion have your user go to win2k proffessional it looks just like ME except has networking componets and all the good things about NT workstation, partition Magic, and several other previously 3rdparty stuff. Like you can change your IP addressing scheme without rebooting. And other fun stuff. You can make a dynamic disk and give yourself a software raid3 and resize it on the fly.
really cool stuff in w2k prof.

Thank you for all the responses. They've been very helpful. I would however like to leave the question open a bit longer. Any other input would most certainly be welcome. Thanks
