Stubborn Symantec Antivirus 8

Priviously the dude before me installed Symantec Antivirus 8 on the client pc. Know i want to upgrade to Symantec Antivirus 9, and i can't uninstall coz of this password from the Client's Symantec Server to uninstall the program.
How cani get past this Password??? Do i manually delete the programm files or is there other ways around this.....

I had this happen and it wasn't a password I had put in. I called Symantec and they gave it to me. I think it was either symantec or password

It was something really generic. Sorry that I can't be more specific. It didn't take me long to get through to Symantec though. Good luck!

There is a registry edit to disable the SAV agent uninstall password for cases like this. You could also turn off that setting for the affected group in the SAV console. A complete recipe is available at http://www.sharpebusinesssolutions.com/savce_upgrade.htm
