of a windows ME install. My toshiba notebook had a keyboard problem m i could not fix. The space key in notepad put the date in, in word it opened the find box. In any case i could not type so it was useless. I tried to reinstall from the setup file on the hard disk [a dirty reinstall] when i got to the end MS would not accept the key which was on the back of the notebook. 1.Is there a number i can call ..for Microsoft? 2. can I back out of the install. It is windows ME. I want to keep my files so I would rather not . Also when it was asking what type of install i wanted the screen went right through before i could read it..so i am hoping it is just a repair and did not delete any files. Now when I cancel from the "enter key screen" I reboot and it goes back to "enter key screen" I do not have the restore disks from toshiba.
