stumped by proliant 800!!!!
i try set up nt4.0 on this proliant 800. i decided
to start from scratch. so i apply system
erase....no problem.
on restarting smartstart, i get the error
message that no physical or logical disks
were detected.....problem
i'm told to run the sytem erase utility again...so
again i run it and then, on boot up i see after
checking scsi devices, the message no scsi
devices detected or fail ....more problem
figured that my array was not detected,so
downloaded options rompaq ( full release,
among other utilities) from the compaq site,
however whe i try to create the bootable
diskettes, i get the message " program too big
to fit in memory"(wonder why?)...and this is
from a 256mb 1600 proliant.....
must confess that though it's a wee bit
frustrating, i'm kinda enjoying it - i'm
learning....
so, what gives? anyone out there enthusiastic
enough to throw a flashlight my way?
thanks
