Stylus Photo R300/ USB problem

by tommo . Updated 20 years, 9 months ago

My client has an Epson Stylus Photo R300 inkjet connected to PC with Win ME. thru’ a powered USB Hub.
Problem – Epson Monitor can’t see the printer to give ink status, nozzle check it just searches endlessly. Test page spools but doesn’t print, nothing appears queued to the printer. But the Active X diagnostics from Epson Support website manages to activate Nozzle check, head cleaning etc.. The printer properties shows three differing EPUSB ports none of which can be deleted, port in use by printer message. It shows the in use port as “EPUSB1”. The diagnostics says it should be the “EPUSB1 Stylus Photo R300”. Tried all the uninstalls re installs of printer and USB drivers, downloaded the latest drivers from Epson etc.. Any one got an ideas?
