Sub-domain under Windows NT 4

I have a website and I would like to add a sub-domain to it. I have seen notes that say I can, but nothing on how to do it.
So how do you do this?

Example:
www.techrepublic.com (have)
www.excellence.techrepublic.com (would like to do)
