Submit your favorite Dreamweaver templates!

By RexWorld ·
Last year we posted a story about a quick little Dreamweaver MX template designed for intranet sites. We know a lot of you have downloaded it and tried it out, so now it's your turn--share your own Dreamweaver templates with the Builder community.

Tell us what you use the template for, and any special hints or tricks that folks need to know when they use your template.

Just to get things started...

I don't know if you would call this a template, but it's the closest thing we have. :-)

I'm currently trying to automate our Web Production Guide that is automatically generated for each new client that we work with.

I've added a directory under the Configuration\BuiltIn directory called DCS (Danylko Consulting Services) and added all of my "template" html files in a frame. The Web Production Guide is displayed on the "Create from Design" main page.

When the client's project is (temporarily) completed, I use the HTMLHelp and package it up into a nice neat .CHM and deliver it to the client.

Saves me a lot of time instead of copying and pasting.

All of this in Dreamweaver

Forgive my ignorance but I am only a dabbler in Dreamweaver--is this HTMLHelp thing you mention a feature in Dreamweaver? Something for creating Windows HTML Help files?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

HTMLHelp is a free Microsoft program that creates Help files (.CHM) from HTML files so that you can contain a web site in a single file. Nice to have in my toolkit. :-)

Hope this helps,
