Subnets

I have a Win2K domain with multiple subnets. Servers are on 192.168.5.x and clients are on 32.x, 33.x, 34.x so and so. My question is should I designate a machine on each subnet to be a backup browser or to maintain the server list. I ask because I am having intermittant browsing problems on some subnets. Thanks
