Hello friends,
I am planing to create a web portal for my graduation final year project. The main aim of this web portal is gonna be solely for educational purposes and not for earning money out of it.
I would request you guys to advise me as on how to proceed further or add new advanced features to it.
Before asking for your suggestionns, I will say what I have got in my mind.
1. I am gonna implement this completely using php and mysql (Is that fine?)
2. As of now I have planned of having six main section. (As of now, I have no idea on how I am going to implement this, I am just jotting down my “requirements”). The sections are:
Register/Login functionality,
Knowledge Sharing functionality (sharing of tutorials, articles, class notes, etc),
Student Information Functionality (Check Attendance status online, Exam score, etc),
Messaing System Functionality (a way for students to interact with each other – might be PM systems, shoutbox or something professional.. Have not decided on it yet, Any suggestions?),
Fun & Entertainment Functionality (Gallery and fun activites, puzzles, etc),
iTrader System – Buy/Sell fresh or used books online from Integrated Amazon or E-bay or from fellow students.
Is there are any major module you can think of?
Also, at the end of my project, I dont want my examiners to say, “Ah, you could have achieved it just by using a forum”. I want my web portal to outstand and should have functionalities that can not be achieved by using a normal website/blog or forum concept.
Do you guys think it worth taking this risk for a academic project? The timeline is 16 weeks.
