Just looking for some thoughts on a little situation with my 2000 partition.
Everytime it starts up it has been scheduled for a disk check and goes through the procedure and then says an unspecified error has occurred and the procedes to boot to windows and everything works ok.
One time my Outlook pst file got corrupted as the size was 440mb instead of 40mb or so. I replaced the pst file with an old one and that fixed that problem.
I try to defrag it with windows or norton and it usually sticks around 80% done and sometimes makes the windows sound ‘ding’ while defraging. So it doesn’t get totally defraged even if i leave it over night.
My thoughts were that just maybe some bad sectors on the drive.
Does anybody think that if i wipe out the partition and reinstall it it would turn back to normal.
Just wondering if anyone has run into this kind of problem and would have some thoughts toward what is happening.
