    Support Pack install

    I am going to install SP8a on a NW 4.2(SP6 currently installed) for Small Business server. I also have Groupwise 5.2 (SP3 currently installed) and I am going to install SP5 for that. My question is do I have to install SP5 for Groupwise immediatelyafter installing SP8a for NW or can I wait say a week or so. Thanks.

      yes, you can wait on the groupwise update, the groupwise updates only update groupwise files, the service packs will only update the os, any 3rd party or apps other than the os itself need to be patched or updated seperatly.
      just remember to read throught the procedures for the service pack before you load it, sometime for the small bussiness versions there are some differnces in what needs to be loaded, and you may need to copy some files around in the install.

      The Groupwise update is not dependant on the SP8a update. You are not required to update one before the other or to update them at the same time even. You can run SP8a and wait as long as you want to patch Groupwise.

      No. The SPs are independent but I’d go for the order you’re suggesting
