Survey about the 12th Annual Salary Survey

By Mike ·
I'm sure that many of you have seen the 12th Annual Redmond Magazine Salary Survey.

What I want to know is, what do you think about it. Do you think that it is reflective of the real world?

How does the industry view certifications, specifically Microsoft Certifications, these days?

Also, does anyone know of a Salary Survey that doesn't focus only on Microsoft specific technologies?

Wait, what?

by jmgarvin In reply to Survey about the 12th Ann ...

You make MORE not having certs?
http://redmondmag.com/salarysurveys/2007/graphics/2007_chart_1.gif

Mean - No Cert: 78,158
Mean - MS Cert: 70,906
Mean - Other Cert: 70,928

So, what they are saying is that you are better off without being MS certified and better off not being certified at all??

Well...

The article actually mentions a couple of people who say the cert helps them get a job, but doesn't help them with salary in their current job.

Maybe those people have been in their job for a long time, have good connections, or something like that, and they just don't think they need to pursue a certification.
