Suse Linux - Getting DSL to Work

By McIntyreM ·
I just bought Suse Linux 9.1 Personal Edition and installed it on my computer. However, I can't figure out how to get my DSL Internet connection to work on it. With RedHat, it just worked automatically, but with Suse it looks like I have to manually do it and everything I tried failed. Is there anyone that can help me figure it out? Thanks.

This did not help me at all. I already had PPPoE installed on my machine. The only thing this might have done is update it.

After playing around with the settings some more, I was able to discover the problem. I had set the default gateway for my NIC to the same IP address as the DSL modem. By removing this setting and leaving it blank, the computer was finally able to to get out onto the Internet.
