sv266ad motherboard not seeing all ram

By tscouton ·
I read that the SV266ad motherboard supports up to 2 gigs of ram. Since there is 2 ddr slots, I purchased a 1gb stick of pc2100 ddr ram. When I install it, the bios only detects 512mb. I have updated the bios and tested ram in another computer. Still it says I have 512mb. Any ideas?

I pulled the manual for your board and one thing stands out. Is memory unbuffered(unregistered)? board has warning not to use buffered.
Post back with brand and model number of memory if this does not fix problem.
Also what does second computer say memory is although I am assume it is showing 1GB

Did you set cpu frequency? I just saw that it can be set for 100 mhz or 133 mhz

previous answer: He stated it still showed up as 512mb of ram on the other system.

Not sure but it seems to be as stated, are you using the correct memory for the system? Buffered unbuffered.

Also check the ECC adaptibility to make sure your not using ECC memory when you should be using non ECC.

good luck
