sychost.exe Problem

I am using a Dell laptop running W2K and a Cisco VPN software package. When connecting to the VPN I get a sychost.exe error preceeded by a memory failure error. It appears that the VPN program has problems either with permissions or retrieving a DLL however there does not appear to be enough info to troubleshoot futher. Any suggestions?
