Win XP sp2 install

You should. However, Exit all running apps in system tray as far possible, close all running apps., and NB., make sure your CD drive is in good condition if installing from there, better; install from the folder where it was saved. Be sure to enable the backup files option in order to reverse in case of malfunction. However I have only begun with SP2 installs, but I guess the same rules will apply as per SP1. A corrupted/interrupted install could damage/corrupt your Win system/startup files. I had an interrupted install on SP1 and had to format and start all over because of dirty CD device not reading properly.
