    by mervin ·

HOW DO I IMPORT THE CONTACT INFORMATION FROM ACT 3.0 TO OUTLOOK 2000. THE ACT 3.0 PROGRAM IS NOT ABLE TO EXPORT TO A COMMA SEPERATED VALUE FILE. IT IS ABLE TO EXPORT TO A TEXT SEPERATED VALUE FILE IS DOES NOT KEEP THE FIELD INFO. IS I EXPORT TO A ACT .DBF FILE OUTLOOK CANNOT IMPORT THIS FILE AS IT REQUIRES ACT 3.0 INSTALLED ON THE SAME PC. THIS I DON’T HAVE AND NO LONGER HAVE THE DISKS FOR ACT 3.0.

      Hi Mervin,
      It is very simple!
If the ACT and Outlook are in the same machine, go to Outlook click on File, import/export, and select import from another program or file, select your version of ACT and point the import wizard to the folder where Act files are located. 1, 2, 3… There you have it.

If the programs are not in the same machine, copy and paste the ACT folder to the machine where your Outlook is located and do the samething.

      Easy enough!

You also, If that doesn’t work, because of windows system files that aren’t installed by copying the ACT directory, you may want to just go get a free trial (30 day) download of the ACT program, and then import it into Outlook, I’ve had to go that route, what’s it called again? the long road, yep, that’s it…
I would at least try copying the directory first though, might save you some time…
