I am responsible for the smooth operations of several large corporate networks, unfortunately, i’m not involved in the consulting/purchasing process. On all of the networks we’re responsible for Symantec Antivirus Corporate has been used in a server/client configuration with 1-3 AV servers in each network serving updates to clients. Symantec hasn’t updated in 8 days, no reason, just LiveUpdate didn’t feel like updating I guess. Now I have the mess of damage control because Symantec just really sucks. If anyone here is using Symantec I suggest checking your definition dates and performing manual update by downloading the .xdb file (instructions on the symantec site somewhere) and possibly creating a logon script to download and deploy these .xdb files automatically instead of using LiveUpdate.
