symantec AV without WINS

has anyone set up Symantec AV 8.0 in an Active Directory Domain without using WINS? I want to drop WINS, but then I can’t use my NT Client install feature of Symantec. Symantec suggests using either an import list or intellimirror, but I wondered if there are any other ideas. Thanks
