Symantec Enterprise-Class Anti-Spyware?

By herrmannator ·
What impact will the release of Symantec's new Enterprise offering have on the anti-spyware marketplace? Can an integrated anti-virus / anti-spyware product be as good / better than stand-alone anti-spyware? For those already using SAV Corporate Edition, this seems an obvious choice -- right?

I like it

I am going on three years of using Symantec. I like the options, and ver 9 only made it better.

With the adding of Adware detection, it is a good start. It isn't great yet, but is promising.

What I like, It will find some adware that AdAware1.05SE has missed (by lavasoft).

When it quariantiens something, I can delete it from the server instead of having to drive accoss the state.

What I don't like. The default is to "leave alone" the adware. It then has the popup window to warn you that it found something, but didn't do anything with it.

At that point, my (L)users will call complaining they have popups on their screen when they come in first thing in the morning. Not complaining that there is something on their system, just that they have to deal with the windows. (loooooser).

I will have to sometimes boot the system into safe mode and run the manual scan.

The nice thing is, anything that it can't remove it gives you a link directly to the removal instructions.

Overall, it is doing well. The next version will rock!
