Symbols instead of wordson the Hyper Terminal when configuring a 1841 Route

I was configuring a router, upgrading its IOS (via Console cable)went into Rommon> mode type a command and it seemed that every letter I press on the Keybord it shows as a Symbol on the Hyper Terminal Screen. What can i do to return back to configuration mode??
