Sysprep - Factory sysprep

By Ahowley ·
I'm new to the new version of Sysprep. We have multiple images with different hardware on each of them. I know there is a factory sysprep feature, but not sure how to use it properly. I created the sysprep.inf file, but it does not include anything in reference to the factory settings for finding new drivers, etc.

If anyone could provide detailed information that would be great. I looked up sysprep on the Microsoft website, but does not really help me.

Thanks.

On the Win2K CD, in the Support\Tools directory, there is a compressed file called DEPLOY.CAB
Open that CAB, and extract UNATTEND.DOC
This 140-page DOC tells you how to use Sysprep.
That should tell you everything you need to know.

hope this helps

You don't want to use the SysPrep tools located on the w2k disk; use the SysPrep tools on the XP pro disk. They are in the same location as the w2k disk. The SysPrep tools are more complex and offer better solutions to what you are needing. Thereis a help file there that explains what you are trying to do; i.e., "factory" install. Hope this helps
