When is it appropriate to have a Slot 1 on a system board?

Slot 1

by petemcc In reply to System Board

Slot 1 is a single edge connection for a pentium II processor. It plugs in like an adapter card. Some mother(system)boards may suppport more than one type of CPU, for instance you can have a socket seven and a slot one on the same board. Some boardsmay have multiple slot 1's for dual processor support.
