System Device Resource Conflict

By PCR ·
I'm getting a Code 15 problem from this device: System Board Extension for PnP BIOS. What do I need to know what to do to fix this error?? Is this a problem I should repair?

Have you installed a new card? Is this a new computer? If so call the seller, every thing should work great from the get go. If not go to the device manager, from the start menu, click settings, control panel, system, device manager. Then any thing with an ! or an x is not installed right. Look inside of your computer, be sure you ground your self by holding the metal case for a second. The BIOS will say some thing like award or so and bios. Write the BIOS numbers down, the same thing is on thescreen at boot up, hit pause to stop it. Then go to the main board or BIOS web site to down load the new BIOS flash. Be sure to read the how to befor you try it. Did you get all the cds or floppys with your computer? If so you might already have thedrivers you need. Go back to device manager and select the one thats not right. Then select driver and put in your cdrom or floppy and select install from. And select the drive that you put the cd into. And install.

Code 15-the Device is causing a resourcr conflict, the device resources are conflicting with another device resources.
To resolve conflict, click Hardware Troubleshooter and follow the instructions in the wizard
Open the Control Panel,double-click the System icon, select Device Manager tab,if their is a yellow exclamation, click the plus sign and highlight device, then click the Properties button, this window will open, click on the Resources tab, here you can change the resource by uncheking box andmanually settting resource.

.driver.
Chip-sets are driven in out or into ... action by drivers, some of which run very low level instructions,, on specific chip-sets.
Some of the stuff at this level runs on the system boards early on, (hard coded), so to windos it looks hard-wired.

Audio chipsets get the sound drivers, motherboards get ide and bridge drivers and so on.

What you need to know to fix it, reliably, is familiarity with basic electronics and pc devices. These things help too: patience, pattern recognition skills, logic, good memory, access to libraries and glossaries, ...

What we need to know to help point out possible solution now, rather than make educated guesses is: details about the system you have at hand.

- main or boot Operating System(s)
- make/model info
- very recent additions/removals/other
- any info re: error message(s), all ...

Many hardware problems can needlesly become alot more complicated by using inapropriate software or software inapppropriately, so take care: good planning works against emergency better than most anything else ...
