I’m getting some problems with an imac. I think it’s version 7.5.9 there is a solitaire program that was being used for months and now all of a sudden an error message comes up saying that there is’nt enough memory to support 2 million colors or something like that. I looked in the guide that was with the system and it suggested changing the values of the disk cache and the virtual memory, so I made some changes and nothing worked. All of a sudden, after a restart I get a message that says something about an unimplemented trap and I cant get past that even if i turn off the extensions. I tried to reload the software and no matter what I do I can’t seem to get past that message to reload the default settings. Any suggestions?

Try deleting the Preferences file for the game. The Preferences file can be found in Hard Disk-System Folder-Preferences. The file should be the same as the name of the program. If that doesn’t help, try rebuilding the desktop by holding down both the Apple and the option keys during startup until you get a message asking you if you want to rebuild the desktop. Click Yes.

If that doesn’t help, try answering some of these questions so we can get some more insight:

What is the name of the Solitare program? Is 7.5.9, the version of Solitare game?
Look under the Apple Menu and select About this computer… What is the version of system software?

Your answer didnt help me but thanks for trying. It’s been so long I forgot how i actually resolved the problem. I know I had to hold down 3 keys and then wait for three chimes and then all was good.
