Not knowing the error being given,I would suggest doin a clean install by Fdisk, and reformatting the hard drive, using boot disk and cd-rom,at the command prompt type FDISK,and follow the onscreen instructions.

It means any one of your hardware - most probably the display card is creating the problem. Sort out and change the problematic hardware and try installation. Good luck !

This could be any number of things depending on the errors you are getting. It is however most likely to be a hardware problem. My gut reaction is the graphics card. You don't say if this is a fresh install but I would be inclined to format the harddisk and make sure that any anti virus software in the BIOS has been set to off. IO sys errors usually point towards motherboard or CPU faults.

Here are several checks you can perform:
1-If your machine freezes before the first reboot I suggest going into the BIOS and if possible change "Video bios cacheable" and "system cacheable" parameters to OFF. Later, when you're over, try changing them back to ON.
2-Disable any on board antivirus.
3-Make sure that if your motherboard lets you modify a parameter that reads "Init display first" the setting must point to the appropiate setting: AGP for AGP graphic cards (in slot or mobo based) or PCI for in slot cards.
4-Make sure you are not overclocking. My personal experience is that Win95 a/b does not like overclocking. Go figure. Check CPU definitions and RAM speed. If you're trying to set-up Win95 then it sounds like it is an old computer so your RAM must be like 66mhz.
5-if nothing else works, go to setup and try resseting ALL parameters to BIOS DEFAULT do not reset them to SETUP DEFAULT.
6-Last, try to post your machine data. We are playing blind here...
Hope it works,

Are you installing on a system that had Windows 95 before? Does the system meet Hardware requirements? Are you using LBA mode for your hard drive?
