System Information file won't open

By dudleymorris ·
I have Windows XP home version. I cannot open System Information. When I double-click on it, the computer seems like it's about to open the file, but nothing appears. This is a new problem. How do I get this to open?

Have you tried right-clicking on the file and choose Open with Notepad?

The instructions for this access are in MS KB309531 article. Basically, you have to tell explorer to view hidden/system files (which sounds like you already have) and then give your account permission to view contents. I just did this on my xp/sp2 professional edition machine aand it worked. Good Luck!
