I am having trouble installing Windows XP Home on a notebook. I am able to boot from the CD and start the setup process but after it loads all of the drivers in the beginning and reaches “Setup is starting Windows” the system powers off. Also, it seems like every time I try to access the hard drive (through other Windows installation setup, FDISK, and Ultimate Boot CD diagnostic tools for HDD) the computer just powers off. I’ve tested the CPU and RAM and both components are working without a hitch as well. Now the weird thing is that I am able to access the hard drive if I pull it out and hook it up through a USB-to-IDE connection on another PC (I don’t have access to another laptop to install the 2.5″ hard drive in). Need some help or advice, thanks alot.
