System re-boots itself after shut down

After installing Windows XP Pro on a friends PC, the PC wants to re-boot itself after going througha shut down sequence. Before I start looking into the registry, I thought I would see if any one else has experienced this problem. I ask our IT pro, but he too is at a loos.
