System reboots with new graphics card...

By kentontator ·
So if I use the on board graphics card the machine runs fine. But if I install a new graphics card the system will reboot itself within a minute of booting into windows. I have tried both a PCI and an AGP card in the machine both get the same results. I also have disabled the on board card only to have the same results.

any help or thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated

Power insufficient for the graphics card maybe? ...

If the system shuts down within one minute, that's just about when the graphics card will be coming into play.

Does it require separate power? If not, how much power is this card drawing - can the PSU handle that much extra current?
