Hi,
I recently started testing Vista for our organization and have had my workstation restart without warning or report two to three times a day.
System Specs are;
Gigabyte K8 Triton GA-K8N-SLi
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
2GB Ram (DDR 400)
ATI Radeon X550
1 X CR RW
1 X DVD-RW
1 X Seagate ST380021A PATA
1 X Maxtor 7 Y250M0 SATA
Running a 400 Watt PSU
I assume that if the restarts were OS related that Vista would document it and at least refer to it after the OS comes back up.
All I have in the event log is “The previous system shutdown at XX:XX:XX PM on 1/24/2007 was unexpected.”
The only peculiar error I have found in the log is “An error was detected on device \Device\CdRom0 during a paging operation.” As a result I am concerned about the IDE controller.
Your thoughts please..
Richie
