By taylor1277 ·
first of all to everyone i have found a better system restore utility in Advanced Systemcare 3 Pro,keeps every restore point, every single one. What i want to know is should i make a system restore point before i download something or after.Im not to sure on this as I may not know that i am going to download something, and ANYTHING you download can be corrupt. And lets say i need to use system restore to restore a point, which again ill use ASC Pro 3 how far back do i go?thanks for any info on this.

A couple thoughts....

by ---TK--- In reply to system restore

I disable restore points, and don't even bother with them... for a number of reasons, which I will not go into. As for a regular user, I would suggest only keeping the most recent restore points. With in a couple months...

I very rarely come across downloads that are corrupt, which makes me wonder what you are doing? but really its none of my business. Odds are if you get a good and nasty virus, the virus will most likely infect your restore points... Just a little FYI...

Using it as a backup?

It also seems like you are tring to use system restore as a backup. If you had a problem why would you want to pull a restore from more then a few months ago?
