System Restore Point deletion

By wesley.chin ·
I know that restore points can be deleted via the GUI. That is all well and good. What is the directory that contains the data? I want to delete multiple restore points via a batch file.

contains System Restore points. But to delete them from here, you will need to change the permissions on the folder.

Another way is through the registry

Thanks to all of those who posted. After getting to the location, I remembered see it before. Thanks for the refresher.

True, the permission do have to be changed to view the location.

My aim is to schedule a batch file to run on a monthly basis to delete all restore points. That way, the amount of space taken up by restore points is not too great. Right now, I have scheduled something to run that is hidden in normal view. It runs as intended. From that, it seems like the view will not necessarily be changed for deletion.
