System restore screen

By thinman57 ·
Every time the windows XP system reboots I get a screen that notifys me that the system has been restored to the previous state.

Is there anyway to get rid of that screen? I have disabled the restore function and still get that message. There must be something else that's causing that screen to pop up.

Any suggestions are much appreciated. This is driving me crazy. To top that off it's happenning on my boss's computer.

Since his system is reverting to a previous state there is something wrong with the present state.
For starters make sure he is virus free. If his Virus Scanner is not Updating correctly or acting flaky in any way download s-t-i-n-g-e-r.exe v 2.5.4 at:
Then run spy bot search & destroy 1.3 - Updated and adaware personal 1.05 - updated.
Then do a file Run c:\SFC /scannow to make sure all the Windows files are good.
Might delete all temp directories and do an error Checking and Defragmentation also.

There may be a process hanging. Try looking for one named srservice and end it. May also try checking msconfig to see if it is listed in Startup.
If you are satisfied that all is normal, delete excess system restore points through drive cleanup.
