Sysvol Share Missing in Single DC?

By CurtisInterruptus ·
In a straight Windows 2000 network, I have a single Domain Controller. My question is, being that this is the only DC, does the SYSVOL still need to be shared (because mine isn't!)? I noticed this while having problems adding another server to thesystem. I cannot add it to the local domain.

Sysvol Share Missing in Single DC?

I needs to be shared, no matter how many DCs you have. Try running netdiag utility with the fix switch - it takes care of minor configuration problems. netdiag is a part of support tools, included on Win2K server CD.

This answered my basic question, however, now I am having difficulty returning the SYSVOL share. I have already run Netdiag with no luck. Any other ideas will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much for your valuable time!
