Taking the MCDST?

By southcarolinapalmetto ·
I'm thinking of taking the MCDST. What are the best resource(s) to prepare myself to take the test?
I'm looking for the best book(s) and testing software for the 70-271 & 70-272 exams.
Any advice on the best way to study for the test? Thanks.

This study guide might be a good place to start.

In all honesty....

In all honesty I wouldn't bother with the MCDST. It is out dated since Windows Vista and Windows 7 have been released. It doesn't expire, but it is "old" technology that may be hanging around for a few more years...

MCDST

Well, The MCDST is really an exam of knowledge over Windows XP and applications. I would agree it's a nice start, and a decent title on the resume, but I would just get the MCP if its your 1st MS exam and focus on Windows 7 to stay current. No use in investing time, money, materials in old technology. :) And if you're into Windows XP, a more technical study would be 70-270 for MCSA.
