I have a customer that reported to me that his tape drive was not working. He said he was getting messages in the morning when he came in. He is running W98, he is the server computer on a peer to peer network with 4 clients. The first day I went in I found a broken tape and replaced it. There is power to the tape, the tape advances when I insert it. I took over this network from another company.I wanted to create another backup and reschedule it. I am able to find the tape in device manager and when I click properties then driver, it says no drivers have been loaded or are needed. I reinstalled twice. The tape shows up if I run the HP Colorodo One step backup from the desktop, but wil not show up in Windows backup selection. What I really want to confirm is if it is working. This morning I went in and wanted to check on the new backup I put in and the message was. Insert new media to continue. The customer is not backing up 8gb of data but the message said that it was running for 1 day and 9hours.
Any help or location of good colorodo Tape Backup source would be great.
