Task manager acting strangely

By jamie ·
Whenever I open Task Manager, it opens ok, but all I get is the first window (applications?) and no option to switch to processes etc that would be at the top. Has anyone else ever had this problem, or know how to rectify it?

Thanks...

If this is a networked machine that is a member of a domain there may be a policy in place denying users access to that feature. Please post a comment giving a little more information.

Nope, this is not a networked machine, just for home use. Task Manager worked fine, then one day just opened as it now does. Sorry, I have no other explanation than this...

Why not just rename your files and extract taskman.exe and taskmgr.exe from your cd?

Sounds like the program has been corrupted.

Just double-click the outer frame and all tabs will be back.

Alternately, download the reg patch and run it.

Task Manager Reset settings. Resolves the problem of missing Task Manager tabs, menu items etc.
