Question

Locked

Task scheduler trigger

By wesley.chin ·
Is there is trigger to enable the running of a task when a computer is locked? I know it is available in some flavors of Windows, but I am looking for something specifically for XP.

From what I understand

XP only logs the unlock events =\ so its hard to impossible to create a trigger from the lock.

But,

depending on what you want to do
rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation && call <name of task script>

As a short cut on the desktop... they would have to initiate the lock though, no automation.

is there something to be done in this case?

After a period of time, there is a password prompt. what can be done to have tasks set up in the task scheduler start as set up? the task is already set up to run even when not logged on.
