I have a real problem.
I have a server for a game running in the taskbar if I close it shut's it down, but if I leave it open my daughter has the tendency of closing anything in the taskbar. How can I disable the closing of programs in the taskbar or disable the taskbar totally so the gamers are happy and my kids are too?

Run this as a service. Than you would not have anything "sitting" in the task bar.

There is a utility called 'Hidewin' - can be freely downloaded :

When you run this, it runs in ur system-tray as a small icon.. you can choose which running programs (appearing on Taskbar as well) to hide from viewing on Taskbar.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Try right clicking the taskbar, and choose Properties. In the Properties window that appears, on the Taskbar tab, check the box "Hide Inactive Icons" and click "Customize". Then select an application and choose an action for each item you want to configure "Hide when inactive" "Always hide" or "Always show."
