Taskbar length

By giboya ·
My company recently upgraded from 2K to XP. With 2K I was able to open multiple windows and be able to view all the icons in my taskbar. Now with XP, the max I've been able to see is 14. Is there a way to change the settings so that all my open windows beyond the 14 shows?
I would really appreciate if someone can help me.

I feel your pain :-)

I had the same reaction when I first upgraded from 2000 to XP. After a while I got over it and now prever the XP taskbar.

To make the most of the XP taskbar real estate:
- Windows Classic Theme (Display Properties->Themse Tab) provides more space for program buttons.
- Taskbar Properties->Taskbar Tab: Notification area: "Hide the clock" and "Hide inactive icons"
- Taskbar Properties->Taskbar Tab: Taskbar Appearance: Uncheck "Lock the taskbar". Then, drag it up so two or more rows of buttons appear.
- Taskbar Appearance: Check "Group similar taskbar buttons".
- Taskbar Appearance: Uncheck "Show Quick Launch".

Hope you enjoy XP...

If I'm reading your question correctly, you're having issues with your computer not showing all of the open windows on the taskbar?

The answer to this is to right click the taskbar, select properties, and then uncheck "Group similar taskbar buttons".
