TCP/IP

Hi,

When I try to ping a computer name (XXX) from a server(w2k) I get error message “EXPIRED IN TRANSIT”. When I ping the same computer (XXX) from workstation I get “REQUEST TIMED OUT”.+ I can not ping any computer from XXX computer but when I ping XXX from XXX itself I get a reply. Please let me know if there is a difference between this two and what I need to do solve this problem.
XXX computer can not connect to the network but some how internet explorer works fine.

XXX is W2K.
