I currently run two networks due to our Engr. migration. We were 100% UNIX based in our engineering capacities but due to certain technological advances we have migrated 85% from UNIX to NT. My issue is with the software we use to allow the UNIX andNT systems to communicate. We use Sun Solstice Network Client (pc/nfs) 3.1 and 3.2. This software performs well. Due to recent experiments with Win 2000 we have found that the advantages are many. Our plan is to migrate from NT to 2000 later in the year. The only issue that has surfaced so far is the inability for the software to install. Upon installation, the cliet (Sun Solstice) errors stating “You must be using Microsoft TCP/IP networking to install this software. Would you like help setting that up now? If you choose no, you cannot continue installing your Solstice software”. All our systems run TCP/IP. Microsoft supports Sun Solstice Net Client 3.1 in Windows 2000 AND Sun assured me that the product is compatable within Win 2000. Sunhowever, refuses to tell me how to correct the issue without paying a substantial amount of money. We have purchased over $100,000 US of hard and software from them yet they refuse to supply me the answer. I can not complete the install.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
