TCP/IP greyed out

By tblatny ·
WinNT workstation, trying to configure TCP/IP and it's greyed out, along with the options to ADD. What should I do to re-establish my TCP/IP? Do I reinstall WinNT? Thank you!

TCP/IP greyed out

by TimTheToolMan In reply to TCP/IP greyed out

Hi,

One reason for this could be that you log into a domain and the administrators of that domain have set up "computer policies" such that certain features have been disabled from change.

Re-installing WinNT will certainly overcome that untilyou try to connect back to the domain...

Cheers,
Tim.

Most likey, the problem is that you (user account) don't have permissions to perform the task. Log on the system as an administrator or any other account with enough permissions. Also, as the another person said chech the "computer policies"-maybe someone hid TCP/IP intentionally so that you don't have to miss it. Good-luck!
