Tcp/Ip settings

how do you reset the tcp/ip settings to the default origonal settings?

Open a command window and type the following (do not include the quotes) "netsh interface ip reset c:\reset.log" Remember to include all the spaces, the last parameter is a required log file, you can direct it to any path you wish. After Netsh runs successfully, reboot and your IP settings will be set to the defaults.

Search for nettcpip.inf which is a hidden file; usually under c:\winnt\inf, then right click it and left click install.

This will rewrite your TCP/IP stack completely whereas the NETSH command just rewrites/clears the registry keys.

You will then need to delete you ISP connection if needed, then reboot your system and then recreated your ISP connection once rebooted.
