I was wondering if anyone else is having the following problem or if someone can help me resolve it.
I had asked Tech Republic the following question:
“I cannot do a search in Tech Q&A on questions still open. I ALWAYS get closed questions – ONLY. I have tried everything.
I am almost sure that this has nothing to do with Internet Explorer.”
They responded with:
“Click on “View all open questions” on the Technical Q&A page to see the open questions. We’ve tested this just now and it is working for us. ”
However – it doesn’t work. Whether I do a search for a title or the author – if the question is still opened, it doesn’t show up in the search results.
And in the ADVANCE search I cannot get anything to work for open AND closed questions. Either it finds nothing, or says it found 25 results but doesn’t list up any of the results – at least this patially worked before 2002, even though that wasn’t too satifying either.
The only search that seems to work for me is when I do a search in the main search box and for closed questions only. And even then, if I am looking for something specific where more than one criteria is needed, combining crtieria using “AND” doesn’t work either.
I am using IE 6 and NT Sp6.
Idid have some other problems here which were resolved once I upgraded to IE 6 – but the above wasn’t one of them.
It appears to not be just a matter of the new (optical) changes Tech Republic made.
