Technology High School

By John Connell ·
Today I read that a high school in or around Santa Rosa, California has developed a program to send ninth graders to "technology high school" at Sonoma State University. The students take technology-focused courses at the University and take humanities and math at the high school.

I wonder if this will have an effect on students when the time comes for them to choose post high school plans. I've seen in many discussions at TechRepublic that young people are sometimes mislead into going aftercertifications instead of choosing a college education.

Do you think that the program in California will urge students to choose college or will it give them a dose of training that may push them towards certifications and an immediate job search? What's best for these kids?
